this week, classic '80s phuea chiwit from the niranam group! as the first artists of their style signed to major label nithithat (n.t. promotion co., ltd.), niranam had a leg up from the get-go, almost equaling genre stalwarts carabao in popularity. while they had a lengthy career and unstable membership over the years, this tape (their sophomore outing from 1987) finds them early on, with frontman khanit utthayansing (nick) backed by amphon thue-khwamtrong (yoi) on lead guitar, monchai lakkham (kongs) on bass, anan thaenchetrio (rang) on drums, and rachen ritprasoet (dam) on keyboards, with multi-instrumentalists luecha ritprasoet (ot) and wuthisak methanon (kongkaeng) rounding out the sound. the production is classic nithithat; a characteristic blend of studio band and pioneering electronic touches. enjoy!
